New Year, New Habits: Tips for Getting Back on Track

As we start a new year, it's important to focus on getting back on track with our health and fitness goals. Here at Centred Fitness, we're thinking about three key areas to focus on: exercise, diet, and goal-setting.

3 Key New Year Habits to Improve Your Health and Fitness

1. Ease into Exercise

After a break from regular exercise, it's important to ease back into it. Start with a workout that is lightly challenging, but not too intense. Gradually increase the intensity as you build up your strength and endurance.

2. Focus on Diet

For many of us, the holiday season often means a break from the healthy eating habits we’ve been prioritising throughout the year. Once your festive season has ended, start the new year by cutting out takeaways, sugar, wheat, and processed foods.

Starting the year off by detoxing can also be a great way to get yourself back on track. Make fresh juices and smoothies, and focus on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods.

3. Set Health and Fitness Goals

Think about what you want to achieve this year with your health and fitness. It could be committing to a minimum of two or three workouts per week, or focusing on improving your sleep habits. Set specific, measurable goals that will help you achieve your desired outcome.

The Last Word

It's important to start the new year with a positive attitude and focus on getting back on track with exercise, diet, and goal-setting. Remember to take it easy on yourself, and gradually increase the intensity of your workouts.
